Catherine Conteh and her daughter Regina were reunited with nurse Aly Hogarth-Hall, who saved Catherine’s life 30 years ago by funding an emergency surgery. Aly was visiting Sierra Leone from a nearby charity when she acquired the funds for the surgery. After losing touch, Catherine and Regina saw Aly again when they joined a charity called Mercy Ships in Sierra Leone. Mercy Ships operates hospital ships that provide free surgeries and healthcare services to those with limited access to medical care. Catherine and Regina are now volunteering aboard the Mercy Ship, and their bond with Aly remains strong.
