Balanced News: Woman’s conviction quashed for helping samurai sword killer

Hannah Quinn’s conviction has been overturned after she helped her boyfriend, Blake Davis, who killed a home invader with a samurai sword. Quinn was convicted of being an accessory after the fact of the killing and received a community corrections order. The NSW Court of Criminal Appeal ruled that the verdict was unreasonable. The incident occurred in August 2018 when Jett McKee tried to rob Davis and punched him before stealing Quinn’s handbag. Davis then killed McKee with a single blow from the sword. Davis was sentenced to five years and three months in prison.
