Delta Air Lines is set to open a new tier of “premium” airport lounges in an effort to cater to high-spending travelers. The first lounge, located at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, will be the largest at 38,000 square feet. Additional high-end lounges will open in Boston and Los Angeles later this year. Delta has been expanding its network of lounges to accommodate more travelers who gain access through memberships, airline status, credit card benefits, or flying in a premium cabin. The airline saw significant growth in premium revenue last year.
