The Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour has accused his predecessor and upper house candidate, Tania Mihailuk, of spending ratepayers’ money on scotch, Russian vodka, and two bunches of flowers for a former Labor MP who is now facing misconduct charges. Asfour, who stepped down from Labor’s upper house ticket but not the mayoralty after revelations he charged more than $2000 worth of designer business wear to council, said Mihailuk also caused $120,000 in damage when she crashed a council car into a Hummer. The allegations, made before a parliamentary committee, intensify the messy public feud between the former allies.
