University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill has resigned after facing criticism for her testimony at a congressional hearing on campus antisemitism. Magill struggled to answer a question about whether calling for the genocide of Jews violated the college’s rules. UPenn Board of Trustees Chairman Scott Bok also announced his resignation following Magill’s departure. Over 70 lawmakers signed a bipartisan letter calling for Magill’s resignation, along with the presidents of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who also struggled with the same question. The House committee has launched an investigation into the three colleges’ responses.
