Two women were killed and a man was injured in an elephant attack in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district in India. The incident occurred when the victims were in the coal dumping area to pluck bamboo shoots. The women were trampled to death by the elephant, while the man sustained serious injuries. The forest department has provided financial assistance to the families of the deceased and will cover the medical expenses of the injured man. Human-elephant conflicts have been a major concern in the state, with over 230 people killed in elephant attacks in the last three years.
