Former President Donald Trump testified briefly in the civil sex defamation case against him by E. Jean Carroll. The judge limited Trump to answering pre-approved questions and struck much of his answers from the record. Trump denied Carroll’s allegations and said he wanted to defend himself, his family, and the presidency. The defense rested their case after Trump’s testimony, and closing arguments are set to begin on Friday. Earlier, Trump watched clips from his deposition where he confused a photo of Carroll with his ex-wife Marla Maples. The ongoing trial aims to determine how much Trump must pay Carroll in damages for defaming her.
