A lithium-ion battery fire caused toxic smoke in a Brisbane suburb. The fire started in a home on Sirius Street in Cooparoo and quickly spread to the roof, causing it to collapse. Queensland Police warned nearby residents to stay inside and shut windows due to the toxic smoke. The family inside the house escaped without injury. Fire crews extinguished the fire overnight, but remain on the scene as the home continues to smolder. An official investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
