Eagle Farm tips: Jewel form to shine

Summary

Track: Good 4. Rail: +1m.BEST BETSHang Five, R2 No.3 – $2Put his rivals away easily at the midweeks in an overall figure that will measure up comfortably to Saturday grade. Extra trip looks no issue at all.Abracadazzle, R3 No.9 – $3.90Comes back a few notches in grade for this and looks superbly placed off the good draw. Finds the right race here. She can have Rations’ measure, with Read My Future the potential danger.Vaporizing, R4 No.14 – $4Trialled sharply and then ran well first up in a race where the winner dominated from the front. Good tempo here can allow him to find his feet and finish off strongly.MONEY TALKSRace 1: Sayl $3.80-$3.20Race 2: Nobel $14-$8.50, Boom Court $7-$4.60Race 3: Abracadazzle $6.50-$3.90Race 5: Simply Fly $5-$3.90Race 6: Djukon $16-$13, Star Of Michelin $13-$8.50Race 7: Zuma California $4-$3.70Race 8: Bigboyroy $5.50-$4.60, Kisukano $2.50-$2.15You Make Me Smile, Race 8, $9-$6Race 9: Festival Prince $4.20-$3.30THE QUADDIER6: OPEN HANDICAP (1600m)A raffle of sorts to open up this week’s quaddie. Chris Waller has a big hand and I’m going that way, although with the lesser fancied ones. Djukon ($13) was good winning during the Flemington Cup carnival last year and has trialled just fine for this. Can race well fresh over the mile. Sambro ($7.50) is better suited here than Toowoomba. He hasn’t won for an age, but won’t get a better chance than this, getting a soft run not far from the speed against rivals who are mostly better over further. Trevelyan ($6) is reaching peak fitness now after a long time off and is nicely weighted here. Stardome ($6), Humbolt Current ($5.50) and Dealmaker ($7.50) wouldn’t surprise either.Selections: 2 Djukon, 4 Sambro, 11 Trevelyan, 3 Humbolt Current, 7 StardomeR7: 3YO QUALITY (1200m)Runners coming out of the Jewel rate highly here. Zuma California ($3.70) was best of the rest behind Prince Of Boom there, suggesting he’s back on track after a couple of average runs. Enterprise Pomme ($6.50) was a big flop in that race, but she was given no chance in the run, sitting wide and dropping out. Suggest she will be ridden more aggressively early here and can bounce right back. Mishani Sniper ($6.50) gets onto a big track after running on well there. He will be strong late. Rob Heathcote has three runners, all of which won trials at Deagon last month. Hamlet Von Snitzel ($19) ran the quickest time of the trio and could be ready to live up to his early promise.Selections: 3 Zuma California, 2 Enterprise Pomme, 6 Mishani SniperR8: OPEN HANDICAP (1200m)Kisukano ($2.15) is going to be all the rage here, with everything looking in alignment for her to bounce back onto the winning list. She was solid first-up at the Gold Coast and now draws ideally to sit just behind the speed and be nice and close when it gets serious at the end. Bigboyroy ($4.60) has a splash of class in this race, in what is his first run since a dynamic Magic Millions day display. He’s trialled OK at Deagon and though this is short of his best, suspect he’s capable of running a big race fresh. Tramonto ($13) hasn’t fired this prep, but down in the weights, he can work forward into a prominent position and give a sight.Selections: 5 Kisukano, 2 Bigboyroy, 10 Tramonto, 3 You Make Me Smile.R9: CLASS 6 HANDICAP (1400m)Festival Prince ($3.30) did it tough first up at the Gold Coast and the run was okay. Bred to appreciate the extra trip and has always raced like it wouldn’t be an issue. Should relish the bigger track and getting a senior jockey this time, but this is a tougher race. Enterprise Prince ($6.50) looks to be some value. Just got weary late here three weeks ago when first-up off 76 days. Fitter here and his run there suggested the drought is about to break. Starla ($9) wasn’t far away in a better race than this three weeks back and is well placed against this class of opposition. A few other fringe hopes, but they are the three I’m working around.Selections: 8 Enterprise Prince, 11 Festival Prince, 3 StarlaAWAY FROM HOMEAwesome day at Randwick and the Doncaster is always a great betting race. Converge ($9.50) is the top pick. Wasn’t at his best over 2000m a fortnight back, but Randwick Guineas win over this course is super form for this, particularly with his 49.5kg. Also backing Laws Of Indices ($26) off the Ryder placing – six of the past eight Doncaster winners ran First four in the Ryder and think he might have more upside to come. Will also play Le Baol ($10) in the Chairman’s (Race 4) after two good recent efforts.
