UN Secretary-General António Guterres issued a call for global unity against hate and division on the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. He emphasized the ongoing relevance of the commemorative day in today’s world, where antisemitic hate is spreading rapidly. Guterres urged the international community to strongly condemn all forms of racism, hatred, and prejudice, and to defend human rights and the dignity of every individual. Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, also called for a commitment to sharing the memory of Holocaust victims and combating hate speech. Memorial ceremonies were held worldwide.
