The first batch of new NSW intercity trains has yet to be modified so that guards can monitor passengers getting on and off at stations, delaying the rollout of the fleet. The hold-up to the modifications is also delaying the retirement of decades-old V-set passenger trains and the transition of Oscar trains to Sydney’s suburban lines.
