Online harassment of women politicians and female family members of political leaders is on the rise in Kerala, India. In the past three days, three complaints have been lodged by the female family members of prominent political leaders from both the ruling CPI(M) and the Opposition Congress. The complaints include allegations of vulgar comments and expressions using their images on social media. The cyber wing of the state police has promised to take stern action against the culprits. Various women, including the wife of a late youth leader and the daughters of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, have approached the police seeking action against online harassment.
