The NSW government has pledged $800 million to accelerate the connection of regional energy projects to the grid, allowing homes and businesses to access cleaner and cheaper power sooner. This investment, known as the Transmission Acceleration Facility, is in addition to a $1.8 billion boost for a renewable energy transition. The funding aims to ensure the state meets its electricity supply target of 12 gigawatts of new renewable energy generation and 2 gigawatts of long-duration storage by 2030. The projects are expected to create 5000 construction jobs and attract up to $10 billion in private investment by 2030.
