The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India will hold a camp sitting in Guwahati on November 16-17 to hear cases of human rights violations in the north-eastern states. The commission aims to sensitize local self-governments on human rights issues and will hold a national conference on advancing human rights through local self-governments. The camp sitting will address over 40 pending cases of human rights violations, and the commission will also meet with NGOs and human rights defenders. The NHRC has been conducting camp sittings since 2007 to provide prompt justice to victims of human rights violations.
