Balanced News: New presenting line-up announced

Alicia Loxley and Tom Steinfort have been announced as the new joint-hosts of 9News Melbourne, replacing long-time newsreader Peter Hitchener. Loxley, who has been the weekend presenter for the past 12 years, will now take on the role during the week. Steinfort, a multi-award winning reporter, has most recently been covering global stories for 60 Minutes. The new presenting line-up will be the fourth in the history of the bulletin. Hitchener will continue to anchor the weekend edition of 9News Melbourne. The new line-up will begin in January 2024.
