In an attack in Rakhine state, Myanmar, three villagers were killed and several injured by shrapnel from a shell explosion. The attack occurred late on Tuesday night, with no fighting preceding it. Locals claim that junta troops began shooting into the village and the artillery hit two houses, resulting in nearby houses being burned down. The victims include a woman in her 50s and two young men in their 20s. Since the resumption of fighting in Rakhine state, five civilians have died and 18 have been injured by heavy artillery explosions and gunfire.
