A health alert has been issued for measles after an infectious traveller arrived in Sydney and then travelled to Canberra. The person arrived at Sydney International Airport after returning from India, where measles outbreaks have been occurring. They then caught a bus to Canberra. While there is no ongoing risk to the public, health authorities have encouraged people to be on the lookout for symptoms if they were at specific locations the person visited. Symptoms of measles include fever, runny nose, sore eyes, cough, and a red, blotchy rash. ACT Health is contacting individuals who travelled on the bus service.
