Labor leader Chea Vichea, who was assassinated 20 years ago, was remembered in Cambodia on Monday. Chea Vichea, known for his criticism of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s government, was shot in 2004 and two men were arrested and convicted for his murder. However, they were later acquitted in 2013. A special commission set up by Hun Sen in 2015 to find the real killers has not produced any results. Chea Vichea’s family and union members continue to demand justice and hope that the government will find and arrest the gunman and accomplices.
