The fund will focus on seed to Series B startups, with a particular interest in those planning to expand into South Korea. KIPSEA will provide value-added support to its portfolio companies, including consultancy, follow-up investments, and connections to its wide investment network in Asia. The fund is backed by limited partners from South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore, including Samsung Life Insurance and Korea Development Bank. KIPSEA is a subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings, which has previously launched a Southeast Asia-focused fund in 2018.
