The Kerala High Court in India has rejected a plea for a CBI probe into the killing of Dr Vandana Das. The court also dismissed the bail plea of the accused, citing the heinous nature of the crime. Dr Das was brutally killed by a patient at a taluk hospital in Kollam district in May last year. The court stated that there is no reason to doubt the integrity or credibility of the police investigation and that the accused would be a threat to society if released. The court also rejected the plea for a CBI probe by the victim’s parents.
