Seven members of a local defense force were killed in a raid by junta troops on a base in the Sagaing region of Myanmar. The attack took place near Mon Yway Kyay Mon village in Chaung-U township, and weapons were confiscated from the dead fighters. In a separate incident, over 7,000 people from nine villages in Sagaing’s Salingyi township fled their homes when a 100-member junta column passed through the area. Nearly 800,000 people have been displaced in Sagaing region since the military coup in February 2021. Attempts to reach the junta spokesperson for comment were unsuccessful.
