Balanced News: Junta fires at Myanmar monastery, killing 3 children

Artillery shelling by the Myanmar junta in the Magway region killed five civilians, including three children. Troops fired heavy weapons at two villages, hitting a monastery and a house where villagers were having lunch. Two 10-year-old novice monks died on the spot, and three others died in the attack. The junta troops have been firing at villages in the area every day, forcing residents to flee. Since the coup in February 2021, the junta has killed over 4,000 civilians, according to an independent monitoring group.
