A Jack Russell terrier named Teasel has taken on the role of surrogate mom to six abandoned kittens. Owner Sue Stubley initially worried about how Teasel would react to the kittens, but she quickly embraced her role and began cleaning, snuggling, and nursing the kittens. Despite never having given birth before, Teasel began producing milk for the kittens after they began suckling on her. The kittens will be neutered, de-wormed, and micro-chipped before finding loving homes. Sue’s hedgehog hospital, where she cares for 154 hedgehogs, has benefited from Teasel’s help with the kittens.
