Italian mafia boss Marco Raduano, who escaped from a maximum-security prison last year by using bed sheets, has been captured in France. Raduano, described as “dangerous” on Europol’s list of Europe’s most wanted criminals, was detained in Bastia on the French island of Corsica. His “right-hand man,” Gianluigi Troiano, was also arrested in Spain. Raduano is the boss of the rural Gargano clan, part of the Fourth Mafia, a little-known organized crime syndicate in southern Italy. His escape was a major embarrassment for Italian authorities and highlighted the power of the Fourth Mafia.
