The White House Situation Room, known for its role in major historical events, has recently undergone a $50 million renovation, its first since 2007. The 5,000 square foot complex now features new lighting, monitors for instant access to intelligence information, and improved security measures. The renovation also included digging five feet down to increase electrical capacity and HVAC ducts. Notably, the room where President Obama and top generals monitored the Bin Laden raid has been preserved and will eventually be displayed in the Obama Presidential Center.
