India has ordered Canada to remove 41 of its 62 diplomats in the country, following the expulsion of senior diplomats by both countries. India denies any wrongdoing and has accused Canada of harboring pro-Khalistani extremists. The move comes after frosty encounters between Trudeau and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G20 conference. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has discussed the Canada-India relations and called for de-escalation.
