A British Columbia Mountie, Const. Connor McDonald, has been immediately fired by an RCMP conduct board for engaging in sexual misconduct with a vulnerable woman who had just been released from the hospital under the Mental Health Act. McDonald had spent hours beside the woman’s hospital bed before showing up at her house and having sex with her. The woman, referred to as NS, was described as a chronic alcoholic who had lost custody of her children. The conduct board deemed McDonald’s misconduct to be egregious and incompatible with his duties, and he is currently appealing the decision.
