The article is a personal account of Kelly Aiken’s experience with myasthenia gravis and how she manages her fatigue. She experiences fatigue that worsens throughout the day and requires around 14 hours of rest. Certain triggers like heat, stress, and certain foods worsen her fatigue. Treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) has made a big difference in managing her weakness and fatigue. She has found strategies and adaptations to manage her fatigue, including using gadgets and asking for help when needed. Resting when her body tells her to is key to staying functional. Despite the challenges, she remains hopeful and resilient.
