Balanced News: Heritage NZ proposes National War Memorial attain National Historic Landmark status

The National War Memorial is a national monument in Wellington, New Zealand, that commemorates the people who have served and died in overseas wars and peacekeeping operations. Heritage New Zealand has proposed that the memorial be recognised as a National Historic Landmark. If the proposal is accepted, the National Historic Landmarks programme will manage the monument’s long-term risk, including from natural disasters. The proposal is open for public submissions until the end of the month.
