Balanced News: French yachtie airlifted from yacht in distress off North Cape

A French sailor was rescued from a stricken yacht off the coast of North Cape after its motor failed and rigging and sails were damaged. Poor weather and sea conditions prompted the dispatch of an Air Force C-130 Hercules and two rescue helicopters. The French national was winched off the yacht and transported to Kerikeri. The French Consulate was informed of the rescue.
