A false tsunami alert triggered panic among residents in Porvorim, Goa. The Early Warning Dissemination System (EWDS) siren started sounding after 9 pm on Wednesday and continued for over 20 minutes. The District Collector confirmed that there was no such intimation of a tsunami from any authorities. The cause of the siren activation is being investigated, and the Water Resources Department has been directed to find out why it happened.
