Balanced News: False Tsunami Alert Triggers Panic at Porvorim in Goa; Probe Ordered

A false tsunami alert triggered panic among residents in Porvorim, Goa. The Early Warning Dissemination System (EWDS) siren started sounding after 9 pm on Wednesday and continued for over 20 minutes. The District Collector confirmed that there was no such intimation of a tsunami from any authorities. The cause of the siren activation is being investigated, and the Water Resources Department has been directed to find out why it happened. The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) clarified that no tsunami alert was issued.
