To ensure the safety and smoothness of the annual pilgrimage to the Lord Ayyappa shrine at Sabarimala in Kerala, India, extensive security measures have been put in place. These include the deployment of 13,000 police personnel in six phases, the installation of 76 CCTV cameras, and the use of drones. Three temporary police stations have also been set up. Special arrangements have been made for the elderly, women, and children, including dedicated counters and an ‘arm-band scheme’ for child protection. The aim is to provide devotees with a smooth, safe, and happy darshan of Lord Ayyappa.
