A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a grandmother whose Hyundai Getz was reportedly taken and dumped. The accused is a refugee from Sudan who arrived in Australia with his family 16 years ago. Three other teenagers have also faced court in relation to the alleged murder, charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The daughter of the victim, Cindy Micallef, criticized Premier Steven Miles for his comments, stating that he is not standing with them in the fight against youth violence. Micallef called for support for the African community, which has faced discrimination following her mother’s death.
