Luay Sako, 39, has admitted to murdering Celeste Manno in her home in Melbourne after she rejected him romantically. Sako broke into her bedroom while she was sleeping and killed her, causing 23 stab wounds. He has pleaded guilty but argued he only caused two of the wounds. Forensic psychiatrist Rajan Darjee testified that Sako had severe personality disorder, major depressive disorder, and body dysmorphic disorder, which contributed to his actions. However, Sako was found mentally fit to plead, as he had tried to fake psychosis symptoms during his psychiatric assessments.
