A Canadian security forum, the Halifax International Security Forum, will present an award to the people of Israel in honor of US Senator John McCain. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated uncommon leadership in the pursuit of human justice. The award will be presented to representatives of Brothers in Arms, a group that started as a protest movement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial overhaul and now provides aid to those affected by the recent Israel-Hamas war. The conflict resulted in the death of over 11,000 people in Gaza and 1,200 in Israel.
