Two people have died after a homemade-type plane crashed into powerlines on Winegrove Road in Lilydale, near Grafton, New South Wales. The passengers have not yet been identified. Witnesses suggest the plane may have come into contact with the power lines before the crash. Investigators are working with aviation authorities to determine the cause of the crash. Emergency response agencies, including NSW Ambulance, Police, and the State Emergency Service, attended the scene. Power was lost to approximately 186 customers in the area, with energy provider Essential Energy waiting for the investigation to be completed before restoring the powerlines.
