Aine Leslie Davis, a British Muslim convert who joined Islamic State, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for possession of a firearm and funding terrorism. Davis, once suspected of being a member of the IS death squad called The Beatles, apologised to the Syrian people for his actions, admitting that his presence in Syria “did more harm than good”. Davis had been deported from Turkey last year after serving a sentence for IS membership. He had denied being connected to The Beatles, three of whose members are serving life sentences in the US.
