A Victorian man who disappeared five years ago has been arrested at Melbourne Airport upon his return from Doha. The 46-year-old is wanted for his alleged involvement in a plot to import 186 kilograms of cocaine into Australia. He had fled the country in 2018 using someone else’s passport and had been living in Turkey, Greece, and Bulgaria. The arrest was a result of Operation Barada, a joint investigation into criminal syndicates attempting to import cocaine. The man faces charges including attempting to import cocaine and providing fake information on a travel document.
