The red Honda bike was first spotted by the PolAir police helicopter speeding at 100km/h in a 60km/h zone on Waterloo Corner Rd.It was tracked to an industrial estate on Port Wakefield Rd, where a blue Subaru WRX joined the bike. Both vehicles drove off together and reached speeds of 160km/h in 80km/h zones as they travelled towards the city. The Subaru and Honda bike refused to stop for patrols, police say, and the WRX evaded the chase in North Adelaide. Its Victorian registration was XPI-740.Continuing on the chase, police say the motorbike sped through the city and suburbs as it travelled south, reaching speeds of up to 220km/h and running numerous red lights while driving on the wrong side of the road.It was tracked to Clifford St at Torrensville where it was abandoned and the rider ran away. The Seaton man, 38, made it to Henley Beach Rd before he was arrested and charged with extreme speed, driving disqualified, driving without due care and driving in a dangerous manner. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
