More than 14,000 participants took part in the 32nd Auckland Marathon, including children in a 2.2km race. The event has already raised $450,000, with a goal of $600,000, which will be donated to 10 charities including the Auckland City Mission, Cancer Society, and SPCA. Runners of all ages, from five-year-olds to those in their eighties, participated in the various races. The races started in Devonport and ended at Victoria Park, where runners were able to watch the Rugby World Cup final on screens.
