American explorer Mark Dickey has been rescued from a cave in southern Turkey after becoming stuck more than 3,200 feet underground. Dickey, who was experiencing gastric pain that turned into bleeding and vomiting, was trapped in the country’s third deepest and sixth longest cave system known as “Camp Hope.” International rescuers, including fellow cavers and medics from seven European countries and Turkey, worked for days to save him. The rescue operation was successful, and Dickey was taken out of the cave on Monday night.
