Sydney father Newaz Hasan is calling for changes to prevent tragedies like the one that claimed his three-year-old son’s life. Hasan accidentally left his son in the car on a warm summer morning last year, and it was too late when he realized his mistake. He is urging parents to be aware of forgotten baby syndrome and is calling for child detection technology to be mandatory in all cars. Currently, over 5000 children are rescued after being left unattended in a car each year in Australia. Hasan also wants to raise awareness of affordable devices that can prevent such incidents.
