Two climate activists were arrested after throwing soup at the glass protecting the “Mona Lisa” at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The activists shouted slogans advocating for a sustainable food system and criticized the farming system and the French government’s climate commitments. The incident led to the evacuation of visitors from the room. This is not the first time the “Mona Lisa” has been targeted by activists, as similar incidents occurred in 2022. Other art pieces, including Claude Monet’s “Les Meules” and Vincent van Gogh’s “Sunflowers,” have also been targeted by climate activists in recent years.
