A 100-year-old Second World War veteran named Lance Corporal Harold Jones has walked 661 miles around his garden, equivalent to 41,550 laps, to raise money for charity. Inspired by the late Captain Tom, Jones started his daily walks during the pandemic in 2020. He has raised over £43,000 for the MND Association in four years. Jones, who served in the British Army during WW2, credits his time in the Armed Forces for his endurance. Despite breaking his back in three places, he continues his daily routine and has been awarded a Points of Light award by the Prime Minister.
